Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join our team remotely. In this role, you will provide critical support to the attorney in preparing immigration applications, legal research, and drafting documents. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in immigration law and make a tangible difference in clients’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws and policies related to humanitarian relief, asylum, and trafficking visas.
- Draft legal documents, including affidavits, briefs, motions, and client correspondence.
- Review and organize evidence, including declarations, medical reports, and supporting documentation for cases.
- Assist in preparing immigration applications and petitions.
- Communicate with clients in a professional and empathetic manner to gather information and provide updates.
- Monitor case deadlines and manage case files.
Qualifications:
- Current law student (3L) or recent law graduate with a strong interest in immigration law looking to obtain an Associate position in 2025
- Prior experience or coursework in immigration law is strongly preferred.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
- Passion for working with vulnerable populations and a commitment to social justice.
